What changes the price

What the day covers

TWS is not a general awareness course: it is role training for people who will actually supervise temporary works. The day works through eight modules:

Certificate, renewal and the real five-year cost

The certificate is valid for five years, and renewal is by retaking the 1-day course before it expires, as there is no shorter refresher for the supervisor ticket. When comparing prices, it is worth thinking in five-year cycles: one course fee per cycle, so a small saving on the right date matters less than booking a date you will actually attend. There is no formal entry requirement, though a construction background and relevant site experience are recommended.

TWS vs TWC: check you are booking the right one

The 2-day Temporary Works Coordinator course costs more because it is a bigger job: coordinating the whole temporary works process rather than supervising specific works on the ground. If there is any doubt about which role you are being asked to fill, read TWC vs TWS: which course do you need? before booking, and see the TWC course cost guide for that side of the comparison. The full temporary works guide explains both roles under BS 5975.

Who takes the TWS course?

The typical people in the room are the ones handed responsibility for specific temporary works rather than the whole process:

It pairs naturally with SSSTS: one covers supervising people safely, the other covers supervising the structures that keep the job standing.

Funding and group bookings

CITB-registered employers should read our CITB funding guide before paying full price on site safety training. Booking several supervisors? Our business team handles group bookings with invoice or purchase order payment.
