Workplace first aid in the UK follows the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981: every employer must assess their first aid needs and train enough people to meet them. The 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course suits lower-risk workplaces and smaller teams, while the full First Aid at Work qualification, available as a blended course, is the standard for higher-risk environments like construction and manufacturing. Both certificates are valid for three years, renewed through the FAW requalification course, with an annual online refresher recommended to keep skills current between renewals.
