First Aid at Work (Blended) is run on demand — tell us when you'd like to attend and where, and we'll arrange a date and venue that works for you. Single delegates and group bookings both welcome.
First Aid at Work, or FAW, is the full workplace first aider qualification, and the standard the HSE expects for higher-risk environments such as construction, manufacturing, engineering and warehousing. The blended format delivers the same qualification with less time away from work: the knowledge content is completed online at your own pace, then the practical skills and assessment are delivered face to face in the classroom.
FAW goes well beyond the 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work syllabus. As well as CPR, defibrillator use, choking, bleeding and shock, the full qualification covers the recognition and management of major illness and injury: heart attack and stroke, seizures, asthma and anaphylaxis, diabetic emergencies, head and spinal injuries, chest injuries, fractures and eye injuries. The practical days are hands-on throughout, with continuous assessment, and the certificate is valid for three years.
Keep the qualification current with the HSE-recommended annual refresher, and requalify before expiry on the 2-day FAW requalification course. For workforce mental health cover, the 2-day Mental Health First Aid course is the parallel qualification. Browse the cluster under first aid training.
