Preparation for the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test is run on demand — tell us when you'd like to attend and where, and we'll arrange a date and venue that works for you. Single delegates and group bookings both welcome.
The CITB Health, Safety and Environment test is the gateway to almost every CSCS card: fail it and the card application stops, however good your qualifications are. The test mixes knowledge questions with behavioural case studies, and it catches out two groups in particular: experienced workers who have not sat a test in years, and workers whose English reading speed makes timed multiple-choice questions harder than the content itself.
This preparation course fixes both. It works through the test structure and question styles, the knowledge areas the test draws from, from legal duties and RAMS to dust, noise, height and plant, and the behavioural case studies, which reward thinking like a safe worker rather than memorising answers. Delegates practise with realistic mock questions under timing, so the real sitting holds no surprises. The course maps to the Operatives test and can be tailored for the Specialists variants.
The test itself is booked separately at a CITB test centre; our CITB HS&E test guide covers booking, costs and what to expect on the day. If you are working towards the green card, pair the test with the Level 1 Award or the CITB Health and Safety Awareness course, and see the CSCS cards guide for how it all fits together.
