Book EUSR Water Hygiene with live availability across the UK. Delivered by accredited providers, with transparent pricing and instant confirmation.
EUSR National Water Hygiene is a 1-day course required by water companies and their contractors before anyone works on or near the public water supply. It is run under the EUSR (Energy and Utility Skills Register) scheme and results in a National Water Hygiene photo ID card, known as the Blue Card because of its colour.
The course makes sure that everyone working on potable (drinking) water systems understands the public health risks involved and the standards needed to avoid contaminating the supply. It covers why water hygiene matters, the personal hygiene standards expected, safe working practices and good site practices around pipes, fittings and materials.
The Blue Card is required by all of the major UK water utilities for site access, and the EUSR registration is valid for three years. It is one of the EUSR utility courses CourseGenie lists, alongside the Location of Underground Services (CAT and Genny) course for working safely near buried services.
The registration is valid for 3 years, after which it is renewed by taking the course again.
