The Level 3 Certificate in Teaching and Training is the qualification for people who deliver training: instructors, trainers, tutors and experienced professionals who teach others their trade or subject. It covers planning, delivering and evaluating teaching, and managing the learning environment.
It is aimed at people delivering or preparing to deliver training in industry, training centres and the workplace: construction trainers, plant instructors, health and safety trainers, in-company trainers and anyone stepping into a teaching role from a hands-on career.
This qualification is awarded by ProQual and regulated by Ofqual (qualification number 603/1312/2). It covers understanding roles and responsibilities in education and training, planning and delivering inclusive teaching sessions, using assessment in teaching, and evaluating your own practice.
Assessment is by portfolio: you evidence real planning, delivery and evaluation, including observed teaching practice which can be arranged by video. There are no exams, and you complete the qualification remotely around your existing work.
Trainers who also assess qualifications pair this with the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or the workplace assessing Award, and can progress to Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance. You can also browse the full range of qualifications.
